Steps to Success
Step One
Training
Conducted by a team of volunteers and staff, the training encourages accountability and responsibility. Participants gain insight and skills for effective communications, job search tactics, resume development, networking, conflict & anger management, reflective listening, dressing for success, interviewing, and job retention.
Step Two
Employment
Our program provides graduates with valuable job leads through our extensive network of employer partners. Each graduate is paired with a dedicated case manager or employment counselor who offers personalized coaching in life skills and job readiness. We emphasize the importance of accountability and responsibility while fostering continued relationship building. Our support system is designed to empower graduates to successfully navigate the job market and achieve long-term career success.
Step Three
Life Skills
Individuals learn skills such as budgeting, goal-setting, credit restoration, managing emotions, and relational development. The goal is stability in all aspects of life over the long term.

Step Four
Staying Connected
StepUp Greensboro is a family. By staying connected to the network of StepUp peers, mentors, and volunteers, individuals are able to continue their growth towards a positive future as well as reach a hand back to help the next person. Through our Alumni Program, participants continue to develop their own careers and communication skills as well as be a StepUp ambassadors for future participants.
StepUp ain’t just somewhere you go to get job training. StepUp is a place that taught me how to live.
